Reaction of 'Of Mice and Men

At the end of "Of Mice and Men" there occurs to be a ginormous problem. Lennie accidently kills his little puppy and Curley's wife. When he killed his puppy, he was just playing with him and he "bounced him too hard" said Lennie found on page 85. When he killed Curley's wife she let Lennie touch her soft hair, but when she leaned away to have Lennie stopped, he grabbed her hair. In the tussle she started to fight back, which then made Lennie panic so he put his paw over her mouth and nose. He kept telling her to stop screaming shown on page 91. Finally Lennie was done shaking her he had broken her neck.

My reaction shocked me for the most part. I couldn't believe that George would shoot Lennie. They roamed every farming job they did together. George knew that Curley was going to kill Lennie for what he had don't to his wife. George would have felt much worse if anyone else would have killed Lennie.  At least Lennie was thinking of a happy place when he died.

The characters in Mice & Men relate to people in the world that could actually be these characters. Lennie reminds me of a 4-year old. You always have to be on your toes with him, because you will never know where he might be or what he will do. George on the other hand would be considered as a caring mother. He constantly looks out for Lennie to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone or himself.

Candy stands out in my mind as a wise old man. He thinks constantly about the plan that him, George, and Lennie are stirring up. Slim in my eyes is the father you never had. He will do anything with anyone, doesn't matter what the color of your skin.  He will help everyone if he could but there's just not enough of him. Curley on the other hand is a weasel. What I mean by weasel is he thinks about no one except himself. He will get his way if you like it or not, unless you do something about it. Like Lennie crushed his hand in chapter 3. Curley's wife has to be a woman that works the corner. She is just in it for the money. She looks at all men like she is in a relationship with them. These characters always represent someone in reality.
